OrthoMolecular Products Lipoic Acid 300 mg provides 300 mg of alpha lipoic acid (ALA) and 300 mcg of biotin per serving. ALA is a unique antioxidant that crosses the blood-brain barrier, functions inside and outside cells including the mitochondria, recharges vitamins C and E, glutathione, and CoQ10, and directly quenches reactive oxygen species. It provides fat-soluble and water-soluble antioxidant protection, protects the neurovascular system from free radical damage, supports blood sugar balance already within normal levels, regenerates vitamins C and E, and increases intracellular glutathione levels.‡
